Thorogoods are made about an hour away from me. I have a pair I’ve worn every day for three years at work. I work at a hardware store and put on a lot of walking miles. After three years, they’re still holding up. I condition them twice a year. (Fall and Spring) I’ve changed the insoles only twice, so about every year and a half. They’re so comfortable, they feel like slippers. I’m going to get a new pair, not because I need them. But because I WANT them. Retire my old pair for yard and woods work. Start breaking in my new pair to be my daily workhorse.
I forgot to mention. My grandfather wore a pair of moc toe boots every single day as well. He always had Red Wings until they got hard to find in our area. So he switched to Thorogood as well.

I’ve been looking for some good work boots, I might have to give thorough a try. I had plantar issues as well, the podiatrist recommended firm insoles. I switch them between my different shoes and they work fantastic. A lot of problems can be solved with proper insoles.
